Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction
Welcome to Chef's Counter. By booking our private chef and cooking class services, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions. These terms apply to all clients and participants involved in our services.


2. Services Offered
Chef's Counter provides a unique culinary experience that combines gourmet dining with interactive cooking classes. Our services include organizing private dinners and cooking workshops at the client's location, where the client and their guests participate in meal preparation under the guidance of a professional chef.


3. Booking and Payment

  • A quote will be provided for the requested event. Once the quote is accepted in writing, an invoice for a 50% deposit of the event fee will be issued to confirm the date.

  • The remaining balance is due 3 days before the event. If the full payment is not received by this time, Chef's Counter reserves the right to cancel the event and retain the deposit as non-refundable.


4. Event Duration and Surcharge

  • Each event is designed to run for a maximum of 4 hours.

  • Any additional hour beyond the 4-hour limit will incur a surcharge of $200 per hour, to be paid on the spot. The decision to extend the event and incur the surcharge will be made by the chef.


5. Event Requirements

  • The client must provide a clean and accessible kitchen with sufficient workspace.

  • The client must ensure 1-2 shelves of the refrigerator are free for use by our chef.

  • Photos or a video call may be requested to review the workspace and available equipment.


6. Seasonal and Market Availability
Chef's Counter adheres to the seasonality of products for sustainability and quality reasons. As such, some items may not be available, and menus may be subject to change based on market availability.


7. Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellation up to 2 weeks before the event: Full refund of the deposit.

  • Cancellation less than 2 weeks before the event: No refund of the deposit, but it will be retained as credit for a future event.

  • Confirmation of the number of guests, event time, and location is required 7 days before the event.


8. Event Conduct
The chef will arrive 30 minutes before the event start time. The event includes a workshop, meal preparation, and dining. The chef will also handle clean-up after the meal.


9. Liability

  • Chef's Counter is not liable for any damages or injuries that occur during the event. Clients and guests participate at their own risk.

  • The client agrees to indemnify and hold Chef's Counter harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the event.


10. Client Rights

  • The client has the right to a professional and courteous service.

  • The client may request changes to the menu or event details, subject to the availability and agreement of Chef's Counter.

  • The client has the right to privacy and the protection of personal information as outlined in our Privacy Policy.


11. Chef's Counter Rights

  • Chef's Counter reserves the right to refuse service to any client if conditions are deemed unsafe or unsuitable.

  • Chef's Counter reserves the right to adjust the menu based on seasonal availability and market conditions.

  • Chef's Counter reserves the right to cancel the event if payment terms are not met, as outlined in the Cancellation Policy.


12. Photography and Media

  • Chef's Counter may take photos during the event which may be used for social media and our website.

  • Clients who do not wish to have their photos taken or used must inform us in writing before the event.


13. Privacy Policy
